As the rise of the new COVID-19 Delta variant continues, one major employer in Perry is requiring workers to get the vaccine.  

Tyson Foods has announced that all U.S. employees will be required to be fully vaccinated as more hospitalizations are being reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention among the unvaccinated population. 

Tyson Foods says all company leadership must be vaccinated by September 24th, all office team members by October 1st and all other team members by November 1st. All new hires must be vaccinated before their start date. 

Team members who are a part of a union will be subject to the results of the union bargaining on the issue. Tyson reports under half of its team members are vaccinated. 

As an added incentive for frontline team members, once they are fully vaccinated and verified through the Vaccination Verification Program they will receive a $200 bonus.
