Once the Raccoon Valley Radio tower project is fully complete, listeners should expect things to return to normal.
As the tower project aims to repair all three towers at Raccoon Valley Radio station in Perry after last year’s derecho storm, General Manager John McGee says once the project is fully complete listeners should expect the same product to be on the air.
“We are going to continue to serve the public with all of our news and information, specifically severe weather as we talk about the derecho and what caused this issue. That’s one of the things we are committed to. It’s been exciting as we’ve grown that and as I’ve heard comments from the public.”
McGee says he has taken phone calls from Carroll County with listeners asking why they couldn’t hear the KDLS signal as well as they used to. McGee says it’s exciting to hear from listeners being appreciative.
McGee explains the reason for the KDLS signal not being as clear as it was before the project began is because of needing to put the tower in low power instead of being in high power.
