Greene County had an all-sophomore battery on the softball field with Emma Hoyle pitching and Emma Stream catching. The Rams were 6-16 for the recently completed season and head coach Tom Kennedy commented about Stream and her ability behind the plate. “She’s got a real strong arm back there, and she even got to where she could throw from her knees effectively, and didn’t always have to stand up. I think we could do even better next year on throwing runners out if we get a little better at communicating about covering the base and taking throws. I think teams could have a tougher time running on us next year unless they are just super fast.”
The State Softball Tournament continues today at Rogers Park north of Ft. Dodge.
