A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to jail and probation for a March incident.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Eric Rosenow pled guilty to a lesser charge of his second offense for possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to two days in the Greene County Jail and placed on probation for one year with the Boone and Greene County Probation Services.

The charge stemmed from a March 12th incident in Grand Junction. A Greene County Deputy responded to a call of Rosenow tipping over garbage containers and going through a dumpster at Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction. When the deputy located Rosenow, he admitted to smoking marijuana and a search of his person found two bags with a green leafy substance and a smoking device with burnt residue.

Rosenow was also ordered to pay a $430 fine. He was originally charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance.
