The Guthrie County Supervisors met Tuesday.
The meeting started with Guthrie County Health Director Jotham Arber suggesting that a committee should be set up to manage the estimated 2.5 million that county will receive from the American Rescue Act. Guthrie County has to submit a budget to the federal government by August 31st. Next, no action was taken on the Audubon County 28E Agreement, but after Audubon County Public Health lost some employees this agreement would allow for Guthrie County Public Health Department to assist them for a six month period with a charge of $75,000.
Then the Board heard from Guthrie County Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson about the Courthouse Roof Replacement project and awarded the contract to Darren Reeves Construction for $230,000. The project will start in three weeks and is anticipated to take up to four weeks, pending weather delays.
The Board then heard from State Street Insurance Representative Becky Benton about the auto and liability county claims which include deer (I think you mean the animal and not the agriculture company) accidents, vehicle accidents and three litigation cases. These claims will cost the County $8,000 for 2021.
Also, the Supervisors approved the Grade Crossing Surface Repair Fund Force Agreement presented by Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern.
Other items the Board approved included several resolutions such as the Adair/Guthrie County Emergency Management Periodic Funds Transfer, Guthrie County Secondary Roads Department Periodic Funds Transfer and also the proposed resolution approving the sale of a parcel of land owned by Guthrie County to Jennifer Ingles. The following change orders were approved as approved for the law enforcement center project: the Wall Line Grid, Elevator Electrical Equipment, Precast Details and the Sally Port Door.
