The WCV Baseball team finally played in the first round of the postseason Monday night. The Wildcats were set to play the Southeast Valley Jaguars Saturday night. It was postponed due to inclement weather.
Southeast Valley came out firing on all cylinders from the get go in this one. They took a commanding early lead 6-0 after the 1st inning. The Wildcats defense didn’t allow any runs in the 2nd. However the scoring wasn’t done for the Jaguars they managed to get four more runs across in the 3rd. WCV scored a few of their own to make the game 10-2. Unfortunately Southeast Valley scored two more runs to end the game after the 4th inning.
This will end a season of ups and downs for the Wildcats. This very young team showed moments of promise and had glimpses of a high scoring offense. WCV will look to build on a 6-21 2021 campaign for next season.
