The 2021 Dallas County Fair has officially wrapped up, and this year was a return to more normalcy. 

The coronavirus pandemic affected how the Dallas County Fair took place last year but in 2021 there were plenty of people on the Dallas County Fairgrounds to take in the experience. Dallas County Extension and Outreach Regional Director Ann Torbert says there were plenty of activities. 

“We had lots of hands-on activities such as the conservation station came from Iowa State University. We had a great Clover Kid day where kids played with Legos, they learned about our Lego 4-H program and I’m just amazed. Without support from the fair board, our great staff here and the volunteers, it’s been an amazing experience for me.”

Torbert tells Raccoon Valley Radio a big part of making the fair work is through all of the volunteers who help out. 

“The folks who do this are volunteers and they give a lot of, as the saying goes, blood, sweat and tears to make great things happen and it’s really nice to be appreciated. So, take the time out to send them, even if it’s a thank you email, I’m sure they would appreciate hearing that fair goers had a wonderful 2021 Dallas County Fair experience.”
