ADM Tigers softball competed against the Johnston Dragons and Urbandale J-Hawks in an all day tournament on Friday in Grimes, battling hard but unfortunately falling short by the score of 7-6 to Johnston and 5-1 to Urbandale.

The Tigers were able to take an early lead as they lead by the score of 6-0 against Johnston, as the Tigers put up two early runs then continued to balloon their lead after a home run from Brooke Hickey spearheaded the Tiger rally and attack.  The Dragons were able to battle back to take the lead late, as they were able to put up five runs in the fourth inning, then put up two more in the fifth as they walked it off to pick up the victory. The Tigers picked up nine hits as a team in the game.

The Tigers were quieter offensively in the second game as their only source for a run was an Olivia Tollari home run. Tess Boorn battled in the circle but unfortunately picked up the loss.

ADM  will have the fourth of July weekend off before they return to action on Monday when they take on the Gilbert Tigers on the road.
