Jefferson’s newest retailer offers unique items for women.

The Funky Zebra Boutique held its grand opening on June 5th. Owner Meghan Von Behren says they offer women’s clothing, accessories, shoes and home decor. She also is part-owner of other Funky Zebras in Coralville and Okoboji and talks about why she wanted to open the newest location in Jefferson.

“Jefferson, I personally liked the idea of the small town, but also the opportunity to come in here, just what Jefferson does offer already, I thought it was a good touch to add to it. The thought to try to keep more people here versus going to Jordan Creek (Mall) for example, or just out of town further. That idea, that thought of it seemed good.”     

Von Behren looked at four other locations before deciding to purchase the property at 205 North Wilson Avenue. She talks about what she liked about the building.

“The brick for sure, the exposed brick and then the windows and the angles of them and the doorway, the opening. It just seemed very welcoming and cute.”

The Funky Zebra is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am-6pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm.
