A holiday tradition continues this year in Churdan.

The Town and Country Band will perform patriotic music Saturday in the city park gazebo at 7pm. Director Snowy Chargo describes the makeup of the volunteer community band.

“We have pretty balanced instrumentation, which is amazing (because) we’re a small band. At our fullest, we’re around 25 people. Makeup of the band is multi-generational. We currently have an outgoing sixth grader, is our youngest member, and our oldest members are enjoying retired life.”

The Churdan Public Library will be hosting an ice cream social from 6-7pm and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and additional snacks. The concert is free, but free-will donations will be accepted for some of the band’s expenses.
