For residents in Dallas County who receive emergency notifications, there will be a change taking place this week.
Beginning on July 1st, Dallas County will be moving from its current notification system to Rave Alert. For those who are currently receiving alerts under the old system, to ensure you continue to receive alerts you will need to register again through the new system.
Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely says Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management is the contract holder and Dallas County is moving to the new vendor that holds the contract which is the reason for the change to the alert system.
There are multiple ways people can register to receive alerts through the new system including, online here, downloading the Smart911 application or by texting DALLASIA to 672-83.
