While the coronavirus pandemic kept the Fourth of July holiday festivities relatively toned down last year, this year Perry’s celebration looks to be bigger and better.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says their event will include more activities and fireworks, thanks to momentum from last year’s fundraising efforts, even though the celebration looked different without some of the fan favorite activities.
“We had really great momentum previously with last year’s fundraiser. We still did the fireworks last year but no other activities. I think that really showed the community where that passion for the fireworks and still celebrating last year was. So, we really used that momentum this year with the Big Boom Bracket Battle and we brought back the Radio Pie Auction. Both of those were massive initiatives.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio all the fundraising efforts brought in a lot of money including the Radio Pie Auction. Pasutti says the Chamber was able to get more fireworks than normal and even save money for next year.
“Really excited that we will have a really wonderful show this year. It’ll be bigger and better than it has been in the past few years so it’s exciting to see the lineup of those.”
Pasutti says the fireworks that were purchased were received at a discount which makes the fireworks worth more than what they cost.
