Greene County hosts Saydel at the City diamond on E. Lincolnway in Jefferson tonight. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference varsity softball contest will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The Rams are 4-13 overall and 3-7 in the conference while the Eagles are 16-7 overall and 9-1 in the HOIAC. A win by the Eagles clinches no worse than a tie for first place in the conference. Saydel won 4-1 earlier this season in Des Moines over Greene County.

After an 0-5 start, the Rams have been 4-8 with two of the losses by forfeit. The team has been short handed the last 10 days due to freshman Kaylee Stalder undergoing concussion protocol. Stalder had been the starting second baseman and number two pitcher. Head coach Tom Kennedy was uncertain earlier this week about when she may be able to play again.
