Friday, June 18th

12:25am: Brittany Smith reported being contacted by Justin Downs, in violation of a No Contact Order. An officer is investigating the situation.

6:29am: Darrell Pettit called the Law Enforcement Center to report that the Greene County REC Center was not open. An officer explained to him that the Police Department can not tell the REC Center staff when to open the facility.

6:48am: Bonnie Orfield reported a stray dog in the 200 block of East Adams Street. An officer transported the dog to PAWS.

8:23am: Robbie Kaune reported a dog running at large in the 600 block of South Vine Street. An officer checked the area but was unable to locate the dog.

9:10am: A traffic stop resulted in Jerry Miller, of Grand Junction, being cited for Driving While Suspended, Revoked, Canceled, or Denied.

9:21am: Terry Hoefle reported a brush pile on fire a short distance east of Jefferson, on 235 th Street. An officer contacted the property owner and advised them there was a burn ban in effect. The property owner put the fire out.

3:00pm: Justin Tysseling reported that he had located “his” ATV in Jefferson, and that it had previously been reported stolen to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. An Office spoke to all involved and determined that the situation is civil in nature, and there is an upcoming court date to determine the rightful owner of the ATV.

7:45pm:: An anonymous caller reported an unlicensed driver in the 100 block of East Monroe Street. An officer checked the area but did not locate the subject.

8:44pm: An anonymous caller reported a subject burning wood in the 300 block of East Vest Street. An officer located the fire and spoke to the subject at the location. The subject was unaware of the burn ban that was in place at that time, and extinguished the fire.

9:11pm: An officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 200 block of South Georgia Street.

Saturday, June 19th

7:16am: A traffic stop in the 700 block of North Elm Street resulted in Nathan Hicks, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

9:14am: A traffic stop on North Elm Street resulted in Abigail Weber, Of Windsor Heights, being issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

11:08am: An anonymous caller reported that a family member is selling another family members belongings while they are in a care facility. The officer advised the caller that the owner of the property, or the Power of Attorney would need to report the situation if they wished to pursue a criminal case.

2:28pm: A traffic stop in the 200 block of South Chestnut Street resulted in Sealeana Smith, of Grand Junction, being issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

3:37pm: Wild Rose Casino reported a subject on their property who had previously been banned from the property. The subject was gone upon the officer’s arrival. The situation will be handled by the Department of Criminal Investigations on site agents.

5:07pm: Dennie Swanson reported to two dogs in a kennel, in the back of a pickup, at Wild Rose Casino. The caller was concerned about the safety of the dogs due to the heat at the time. An officer located the owner of the dogs and determined that they had shade, access to water, and were not in danger at that time.

7:45pm: Jane Millard reported two dogs running at large near Elm Street and Lincolnway. An officer was able to locate the owner of the dogs and return them. It was determined that they had escaped their yard through a hole in a fence.

11:58pm: An officer was called to Wild Rose Casino in regards to a subject on their property who had previously signed a “self-exclusion form” that prohibited him from being in the casino. The officer charged William Griffin, of Rippey, with Trespass – first offense.

*** An officer issued Julio Saucedo, of Denison, a citation for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability. The officer had originally issued a warning for the offense on June 5 th , 2021. Saucedo failed to provide the proof at a later date, as the warning required

Sunday, June 20th

3:22am: A traffic stop on Highway 30, near Grimmell Road, resulted in Robbi Karr, of Missouri Valley, being issued a citation for Driving While Suspended, Denied, Cancelled, or Revoked.

7:04am: Charles Hawkins reported Joshua Faller would be driving an uninsured vehicle, in Jefferson, later in the day. An officer collected information in regards to the complaint. At 1204 hours, the officer located the vehicle and issued Joshua Faller, of Jefferson, a citation for Failure to Have Proof of Financial Liability Coverage.

8:57am: Dick Whitver reported a tree limb in the road in the 400 block of East Lincolnway. Upon an officer’s arrival the limb had already been removed from the roadway.

11:07am: A traffic stop on North Elm Street resulted in Nathan Hicks, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

11:41am: An anonymous caller reported “spikes sticking up” at the Cedar Street railroad crossing. An officer confirmed the information and notified Union Pacific Railroad.

2:05pm: A Greene County Deputy requested assistance in locating an unlicensed driver that was reported as traveling toward Jefferson, from Scranton. The officer did not locate the subject.

2:14pm: Oly’s Corner Gas Station reported that somebody had pumped gas into their vehicle and left without paying for it. An officer later identified the owner of the vehicle. It was determined that the subject had though the gas was paid for, and made arrangements to return to the store and pay the debt.

2:24pm: Shannon Faller reported being harassed by an adult male. The officer collected information and determined that a harassment had not occurred.

5:37pm: An officer assisted a Greene County Deputy with a vehicle that had mechanical problems in the 500 block of North Elm Street.

9:26pm: An anonymous female reported subjects driving recklessly and lighting firecrackers near the Greene County Middle School. An officer spoke to several individuals, but could not determine who was responsible for the driving issues or firecrackers.

9:49pm: Mike Monahan reported a road barricade and Walnut Street and Park Street that was difficult to see. An officer checked on the situation.

Monday, June 21st

2:30am: A traffic stop on Highway 30 and Grimmell Road resulted in Regan Tuhn, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

9:33am: An anonymous female reported a cow in the road near Daubendiek Park. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the cow.

10:49am: Skyler Spaulding reported being harassed. The officer spoke to all involved parties and explained that any further contact could result in criminal charges being filed.

11:58am: An officer assisted Greene County EMS in the 100 block of North Olive Street.

3:34pm: Amber Revell requested an officer to check a V.I.N. on a vehicle that had been given to her son. There were no issues with the vehicle.

3:58pm: The Perry Police Department advised the Jefferson Police Department that they had received a report of a vehicle, traveling toward Jefferson on Highway 4, that was swerving on the road. The vehicle was not located.

4:09pm: A staff member from Imagine the Possibilities requested a welfare check on a subject at 1000 West Adams Street. The officer determined that law enforcement was not needed.

5:18pm: Krystal Miller reported a large snapping turtle on her porch. An officer caught the turtle and released it outside of town.

5:49pm: An officer was requested to do a welfare check in the 900 block of West South Street after a Life Line device had been activated. An officer determined that the subject did not need assistance, and reset the device.

9:36pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic collision on Highway 30, east of Jefferson.
