For student athletes in the Perry Community School District the recent approval of the continued contract with 21st Century Rehab means they will continue to receive injury support.
Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks says 21st Century Rehab continues to provide support for student athletes with injuries such as concussion. Wicks says 21st Century Rehab serves an important part in increasing safety for sports.
“Just their constant attendance and assessment during games, during practices. Football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, all these different activities, there they are. They are there all the time, so what that does is give assurances to not only the student athletes, the coaches, the parents that we have somebody with great skill, knowledge as far as health and fitness and reduction of injuries.”
Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio this July there will be a presentation by coaches and staff and members of 21st Century Rehab for parents on how they can collectively bring down the frequency of injuries.
21st Century Rehab provides Perry Schools with an athletic trainer one to two nights per week for practices and every regular season home and away varsity football, wrestling and basketball games.
