The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to two traffic-related crashes Wednesday, which both resulted in injuries.
The first incident was reported at 1:34pm. Thirty-three-year-old Logan Warnock of Perry lost control of his 2008 Nissan Altima, as he was traveling west on 260th Street near X Avenue. The Nissan ended up in the south ditch and struck a metal intake pipe. Warnock was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Grand Junction Rescue for minor injuries. There was $2,500 damage to the vehicle and Rippey Fire Department also responded.
The second crash happened on 220th Street near W Avenue. The sheriff’s office, along with Grand Junction Rescue responded to the two vehicle wreck at 3:45pm. According to the report, 59-year-old Michael McAtee of Grand Junction was traveling west on 220th Street in a 2001 Ford F-150 truck. McAtee’s truck was stopped due to another car that was turning in front of him.
Forty-one-year-old Christopher Neppel of Carroll was also heading west on 220th Street in a 2019 Dodge Ram Promaster and rear-ended the truck. McAtee was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Grand Junction Rescue with minor injuries and Neppel was uninjured. The truck sustained $5,000 of damages, while the van had $10,000 damage. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
