WCV Softball had a very good opponent, Van Meter on Thursday. The Wildcats dropped both games of the double-header.

The story of the games was Van Meter’s pitching. Sophomore Macy Blomgren continued her excellent season. In the four innings she pitched she recored 9 strikeouts. She was pulled in the 5th. Her replacement, Molly Blomgren had 3 strikeouts herself. The Bulldogs won 11-0.

The second game fared a little better for the Wildcats. They managed to get some quality hits and score a run. Unfortunately Macy Blomgren still dealt out 5 strikeouts. The Wildcats couldn’t match the offensive output losing that game 6-1.

WCV will be back in action today at home against Des Moines North. First pitch is at 5:30PM.
