A road closure will affect Perry residents through next month. 

The City of Perry announced that Warford Street from First Street to Second Street will be closed for approximately four weeks for construction work at the Tin Pig Building. Also, the alley behind 1201 2nd Street will be closed during this time as well. 

Perry Public Works Director Jack Butler says motorists should be aware of barricades surrounding the work area that are intended to keep people safe.

“They brought in some fencing. I think it’s about six or seven foot tall or so because there is going to be a big lift there swinging block up into the air three stories up and they don’t want to take any chances with cars driving by or pedestrians. That was why they went with the 100-percent fencing it off so nobody can get through there, just to keep people out.”
