It’s that time of year again for the annual Greene County Farm Bureau food pantry donation fundraiser.

The Cram the Cab fundraiser will take place at Jefferson Fareway from June 12th-19th. It is in partnership with Fareway and Rueter’s Red Power in Grand Junction. During the fundraiser, customers are encouraged to purchase a $15 pre-packaged bag of food or round their grocery bill up to the nearest dollar, with all donations going toward the local food pantry, the Greene County Action Resource Center. Additionally, any other monetary, food or hygiene donations can be dropped off at the Greene County Farm Bureau office in Jefferson.

Organizers say one out of every eight Iowan struggle with hunger, and the local food pantries see an increase in usage during the summer months when school is not in session. The goal of the fundraiser is to cram the cab of the Rueter’s Red Power tractor that will be located in the Fareway parking lot from June 12th-19th.
