ADM Tigers boys soccer had a tremendous season come to a close on Thursday afternoon in Des Moines, falling to the number one seed in Cedar Rapids, Xavier by the score of 2-0.
The Saints were able to win the possession battle throughout the day as well, with the majority of the action being played on the ADM side of the field. The Saints took the lead in the first half after a free kick from midfield was put in give them a 1-0 lead, with that being hit around the 13 minute mark. They would then add a second and final goal to go up 2-0 with four minutes left to effectively end the game.
The Tigers tried to find some ways to make up the difference throughout the game, but they weren’t able to get a lot of opportunities, as the Saints were able to use their experience and skill to advance to the championship game.
The Tigers were able to put together a great year as they picked up their 2nd ever win at the state tournament and grab some big wins throughout the season. ADM concludes their season at 15-5 and will be saying goodbye to eleven seniors on their roster. The Tigers have a lot of young talent in the wings, and their will be plenty of minutes available for the Tigers next year.
