Tomorrow the 2020-2021 school year will come to a close for the Greene County School District.
Superintendent Tim Christensen says this year has been unlike any other in his educational career. He appreciates the work that the school board has done this year and the decisions they ultimately had to make, especially concerning COVID-19 mitigation efforts, which weren’t always completely agreed upon.
“Not everybody is going to agree and not everybody agreed with the decisions that maybe they made the last 15 months. But they poured their heart into it and they made the very best decisions that they could make. I tremendously appreciate that.”
Christensen points out the entire community, as well as district staff, pull together to make this year as successful as possible.
“Everybody deserves all the accolades that I can put out there. Because everybody has come together this year to collaborate, to brainstorm, innovative thinking, creative thinking, perseverance, you name it. All of the attributes that we want kids to graduate with are the attributes that our employees, parents and everybody have displayed the last 15 months to get us through to where we’re at.”
Christensen looks forward to the 2021-2022 school year, which starts on August 23rd.
