For this week’s PM Sports Page, WCV Boys Soccer Coach Jon Boss shared this thoughts on the 2021 season after a heartbreaking loss to Greene County to end the season.

When asked about the two Penalty Kick period loss he said, “Yeah… I mean it’s never ideal to lose in general. But yeah the way that everything happened, it definitely stinks to go down that way in Penatly Shootouts.”

Coach Boss was then later asked about what he took away from the loss and how he felt about 2021 season. “The big thing that we talk about after the loss there was that as a coach. I’m leaving this game and the season as a whole with head held high as I possibly could. I’m still going to tell everybody (now I might be a little biased) that I have the best team in the state of Iowa.”

The Wildcats finished the year with a 13-7 record. A big improvement from the 7-10, 2019 season. WCV was a young team that made a big splash in 2021.
