The Greene County High School Boys Soccer team will start its state tournament trail tomorrow.

The Rams enter the state tournament as the fifth seed with a 14-6 record and their first round matchup is with Regina Catholic of Iowa City, who is the fourth seed with an 11-7 record. Regina Catholic is the defending Class 1A Boys State Champion from 2019, due to the tournament being cancelled last year because of the pandemic.

Greene County qualified for the state tournament after they defeated West Central Valley/Nodaway Valley last week in the substate finals 2-1, with the winning goal coming from a penalty kick by Alex Roberts.

The first round match between Greene County and Regina Catholic will take place at 12:10pm Tuesday from the James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines. Raccoon Valley Radio will be streaming the match live on the KGRA 98.9FM mobile app, with the coverage to begin at 11:45am.
