Wednesday, May 26th

6:52am: Oly’s reported a male subject dropped his wallet in the restroom and noticed later it was missing. He located the wallet in the restroom and $200.00 cash was missing from the wallet. The business provided the officer with video of (2) male subjects, who were the only two people to use the restroom. The officer is investigating.

10:22am: Subway called and advised they had located a large bag of empty prescription medication bottles in their dumpster at 104 North Elm Street. The officer learned that Medi-cap Pharmacy placed a bag of empty bottles outside for recycling. The officer believed someone grabbed the bag of bottles at Medi-cap, figured out they were empty, and threw them in the Subway dumpster.

10:52am: An officer was on his way to the Bell Tower after dispatch received an Alarm Activation from the tower. The officer was advised to disregard before he arrived, as it was a False Alarm.

11:19am: Ashley Estell advised she had a dog in her vehicle she had picked up wandering around. The officer met her and placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

3:14pm: Karla Kohl spoke to an officer about mail she had received from Iowa Workforce Development, claiming she had received Unemployment Benefits. She advised she had not received the benefits and had called Iowa Workforce and advised them. They advised her to report it to law enforcement, so there would be documentation of it.

8:53pm: An officer checked on a motorist parked on the shoulder in the 1600 Block of North Grimmell Road. The occupants advised they were fine and were picking asparagus in the road ditch.

9:09pm: A subject requested Extra Patrol overnight in the 500 Block of South Olive Street. They believed someone was coming to take property from them and they were going to be out of town.

10:13pm: Amanda Clouse reported a Careless Driver on North Grimmell Road, heading south. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
