Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls track and field were able to finish up their final day of track and field on Saturday, and they were able to get a solid marks including a state champion team and a pair of state runner ups for runners as well.

The boys 4×100 team was able to become the state champion after running an incredible time of 42.48, winning by .2 seconds in a very exciting race. Members of that team includes Caden Grimes, Tonny Tarwo, Josh Hendricks, and Zach Brand.

Aidan Ramsey was fast in his 1600 meter run, finishing the race 2nd with a mark of 4:18.08, as he was able to wrap up the weekend with multiple medals. Megan Sterbenz was the state runner up in the girls 800 meter run, getting a time of 2:14.80, one of her best in the process.

DCG track and field concludes a productive 2021 season on both sides, and though they will lose some key talent due to graduation, signs are pointing that both teams should have great 2022 teams.
