The Perry High School announced the death of senior student who died over the weekend due to a drowning accident. 

Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger announced via Facebook the death of senior Melanie Gonzalez, due to a drowning accident over the weekend.

Marburger says special counseling services will be available for students starting Monday and will continue to be available throughout the week and potentially longer if needed. Also, Marburger says funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced as soon as they are available.
