There were several Greene County athletes that participated in State Track at Drake Stadium from Thursday to Saturday.
Paton-Churdan senior Danielle Hoyle’s performance on Friday in the discus throw of 130 feet 11 inches earned her the title of Class 1A State Champion for discus throw. Hoyle became the first track and field State Champion for Paton-Churdan in more than 30 years.
For Greene County High School there were two fourth place finishes with Jackson Morton placing fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in Class 2A with a time of 15.18 seconds. Also, four runners participated in the shuttle hurdle relay with Nathan Black, Jaxon Warnke, Bryce Stalder and Jackson Morton earning a fourth place finish with a time of 1 minute 1.65 seconds.
