Even though the money goal has already been surpassed for the fireworks drive, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is continuing to raise funds.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the grocery bill roundup is officially underway at the participating Perry Fareway and Perry Hy-Vee. Pasutti says she hopes the good turnout for the radio pie auction and Big Boom Bracket Battle will continue with the roundup.

“Normally, that brings in a couple thousand dollars which is very significant when it comes to our fireworks drive. So, in thinking about that we have the opportunity to potentially have a bigger show this year or actually bank it for next year so we can plan on an even bigger show then.”

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio she is excited to be doing the roundup again this year. Pasutti says the roundup will be taking place for nine days with Fareway starting earlier as they are closed on Sunday.

“They will both end Monday, May 31st. So, we are just looking forward to seeing what that’s going to come out to be. Every little bit counts when it comes to the roundup.”

Pasutti says the grocery bill roundup allows shoppers to add on as much as they would like to their bill to go towards the fireworks drive. Both the Perry Fareway and Perry Hy-Vee have already begun their grocery bill round.
