Today marks the first day of competition at the Iowa High School Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium.

AC/GC will be well represented at the big dance. On the boys side, Junior Trevin Suhr will represent the Chargers in a pair of distance events. Suhr will run in the 800 meter and the 1600 meter race. Senior Clayton Wardyn will conclude his track and field career as a Charger in the 110 meter hurdles and the high jump. The Chargers will also have their 4X800 relay compete.

On the girls side, Rylee Sloss and Chloe Largent will also be heading to the big dance following a stellar season. Sloss will look to go the distance in the 3000 meter run. Largent will be returning to state in a familiar event, the high jump. The junior qualified for state as a freshman and was a qualifier in this years Drake Relays.
