Both drivers suffered injuries following a two vehicle crash in Guthrie County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened at 8:42pm Thursday on Justice Road. north of 140th Street and west of Springbrook State Park. A 2009 Chevrolet Silverado truck, driven by 23-year-old Kaleb Borders of Copperas Cove, Texas, was traveling north on Justice Road when he rear-ended a 1970 International 856 tractor, driven by 60-year-old Steven Derry of Audubon. 

Both drivers suffered injuries and neither were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. Borders was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines by Mercy One and Derry was taken to Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics by Bayard Fire and Rescue. The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Guthrie and Greene County Sheriff’s offices and the Adair Fire Department assisted at the scene.
