Greene County plays boys soccer in Class 1A, the smallest of Iowa high school soccer in Iowa. Coach Carl Behne’s team found out they have been assigned to Substate 7 for the postseason, along with Atlantic, Des Moines Christian, Grandview Christian (Des Moines), Panorama, PCM (Monroe), Van Meter, and West Central Valley/Nodaway Valley.

The Rams have a 9-5 record and heading into this week had the most victories of any of the eight teams in Substate 7. Greene County has a 3-0 record vs. teams in the region with a 7-0 victory vs. PCM, a 2-1 win vs. DMC, and a 1-0 win against VM. The Rams haven’t met the other teams assigned to Substate 7.

Exact assignments from the Iowa High School Athletic Association should be released soon because the postseason begins on May 20.
