Raccoon River Pet Rescue in Perry is always in need of volunteers to help out, and there is an upcoming opportunity to receive training to do so. 

A free training event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. May 20th at Raccoon River Pet Rescue and participants will learn the responsibilities and duties to volunteer at the shelter. The training program is for adults only.

Some activities volunteers could expect include shelter chores and animal care. Available shifts are approximately two hours each and are available seven days a week. Volunteers are able to work as little or many hours as they want once trained.
