The coronavirus pandemic couldn’t stop the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Music and Drama Department’s spring musical from happening this year.
The upcoming production of “Godspell” will be tomorrow and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5, and masks are required. Vocal Director Kelsey Moran says even though things look different with the pandemic people should expect a good show.
“This weekend is going to showcase their talent and all of the things that they have been working on for the last three months.”
Moran tells Raccoon Valley Radio they weren’t able to do a production last year during the fall and she says it’s been difficult to not be able to hold regular events such as plays and musicals, along with All State Festivals and speech competitions.
“It’s just kind of felt very secluded and it’s really, really hard to continue to be excited and to be pumped up when it’s like these kids are working so, so hard for these achievements and then they get there but there is nothing to celebrate them. There’s nothing going on because they are all cancelled or they went online or a virtual thing that’s just weird. It’s just been so hard, it’s so disappointing.”
Tickets will be available at the door for $5.
