The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Jr/Sr Prom will take place this weekend and some activities may look a little different than previous years.
Prom sponsor Sarah Boesen says the event will kick off at 8 p.m. Saturday with the grand march that will look slightly different as it will be taking place virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She points out families will be able to view the virtual grand march on the ADM Youtube events page.
“It will be kind of a red carpet event. We are excited one of our teachers is going to kind of be our red carpet correspondent and she’ll ask some questions that you might at an awards show instead of doing a grand march this year.”
Boesen says the dance will take place in the gym and there will be after prom activities. Students will be required to wear masks when they are not actively eating or drinking. Boesen notes even though prom looks different this year she is glad the students are getting this opportunity especially when last year’s seniors weren’t able to have their senior prom.
“That was a big thing for me just making sure that we did at least have something happening for our seniors.”
