A Logan-Magnolia penalty kick was the margin in a second straight 2-1 loss for the Greene County girls soccer team on Monday night in Grand Junction at Karber Field. Last Friday the Rams lost 2-1 at Humboldt and a goal on a penalty kick was also the deciding margin. The consecutive 2-1 losses are the only matches this season the Rams lost by fewer than eight goals.

The Rams trailed 1-0 at halftime, then 2-0 early in the second half before Katrina Heupel scored for the Rams with 11:55 remaining in the contest. The goal was just the second in seven games for the Rams (0-7) and Heupel has them both. L-M improved to 2-5 with the victory.

The Greene County boys host Winterset in high school soccer tonight at Karber Field in Grand Junction. Coach Carl Behne’s Rams are 6-2 and winners of five straight, while the Huskies are 3-5.
