The Iowa FFA State Convention is currently going on and for two Panorama students, they are competing in a couple of contests.
Senior Reagan Gibson advanced from the district contest last month to the state contest in ag sales. She explains what ag sales is about.
“You put together a product that you’re going to be selling that you’re going to be selling. It could be a real product, a fake product, anything. You have to sell it to a judge. You basically explain your product, what it does, and you try to figure out how is that going to fit the customer’s needs, and you’re selling to the customer.”
Gibson describes what it means for her to compete in the state contest in her final year of high school.
“It’s really special knowing that it is my last year and that I’m successful in the contest that I put so much time and hard work into. So it’s really nice that I can go onto state in my last year.”
Reagan’s younger sister Riley also qualified for state in creed speaking. The state convention is from April 18th-20th.
