Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Schools have announced the finalists for an administrator position.
Superintendent Dennis McClain says of the 24 applicants for the vacant AC pre-kindergarten through eighth grade principal position, three finalists have been selected. The District hired Grundmeyer Leader Services for the recruiting and hiring process.
The Kathryn Chamberlain is a 4th-8th grade instructional coach with the Atlantic School District. She has served as instructional coach for the past six years and before that was a 4th grade teacher for three years with Atlantic, as well as a Title One reading teacher and a 4th grade teacher at A-C Elementary.
Joshua Culberson is currently a K-6th grade principal at Stratford School District, where he’s been the last four years. Before becoming an administrator, Culberson was a TLC teaching and technology specialist with the Lamoni School District, as well as an elementary teacher at the same school district.
Jennifer Drake is a special education consultant with Heartland Area Education Agency. She has also served as a district-wide autism strategist, an instructional strategist, a 3rd grade teacher and a behavioral disorder special education teacher, all with the Winterset School District; and a special education teacher in Des Moines.
The formal interview process has recently completed and a search team will present all of the data, as McClain will make the final decision. The new principal will start on August 1st.
