The Perry Jayette basketball program was an annual contender to compete for a Raccoon River conference championship when Claire Marburger proudly wore the Jayette Jersey.  Now, the 2015 Perry High graduate will try to bring back the competitiveness that she played with to a program that is searching for a shot of energy.  Marburger was officially introduced as the new leader of Perry varsity girls basketball following the school board meeting Monday night.  Marburger was dominant during her playing days at Perry under former head coach Mike Long.  The 5-7 versatile forward averaged 23 points and 8 rebounds her senior season and continued that success into the college ranks at both Luther and Central College.  Shawn Kenney will have more on the new hire in future days.
