A Dallas Center man recently won $30,000 from the Iowa Lottery’s “Win Big” scratch game.
For 22-year-old Kyle Rose, the winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Star in Story City. While Rose did not win the game’s top prize he reached the second best level, which the possibility of claiming that prize is 14 out of a possible 42 $30,000 prizes. Rose says he will use part of the money to pay off college debt.
The game itself is a $30 ticket with eight top prizes of $300,000, 42 prizes of $30,000 and the overall odds are 1 in. 2.38. The Iowa Lottery began in 1985 and since then players have won more than $4.8 billion in prizes while raising more than $2.1 billion in funding for state programs.
