A special free six-week program is available for Greene County residents who are dealing with mental health issues and the military.

Greene County Veterans Affairs Director Michael Bierl says the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is hosting a program for family, friends and significant others of military service members and veterans. The six-week course is designed to help families understand the kind of trauma a military service person or veteran is experiencing, along with combat stress, civilian life transition, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other mental health conditions. The program will also help maintain an overall better well-being for yourself.

There are three different six-week course dates offered including, Tuesdays from April 13th-May18th from 9-11am or 7:30-9:30pm, or Wednesdays from April 14th-May 19th from 5:30-7:30pm.
