First year Greene County High School head soccer coach and most of his players have something in common; inexperience. Coach Paddock has played soccer much of his life, but this is his first coaching job in the sport. The great majority of the 18 girls out for the sport for the Rams have little in the way of soccer experience, so the coach said communication is a point of emphasis. “We’re focusing hard on communication with both dribbling and passing. We’re taking it back to the very basics and really focusing in on that for this year.”
The coach added assistant coach Mariabel Hernandez, who has coached girls’ soccer here previously, has been a big help. “She knows some of the girls and their skills and has really helped me a lot in getting to know the players and skill levels.”
The Rams are scheduled to open the season on April 8 vs. Carroll High at Carroll Athletic Field.
