The Perry Public Library recently completed an extensive renovation of the building but hasn’t yet celebrated it, and the Perry Chamber of Commerce has plans to remedy that.
Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there will be a ribbon cutting event for the library in April. Pasutti notes the library recently announced more services would be available, including having patrons in the library, which has paved the way for the ribbon cutting.
“We haven’t really had a chance to celebrate that and introduce it to the community because of COVID and their operations being so limited.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio the ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on April 7th which coincides with National Library Week. She points out there will be plenty of things for people to check out during the celebration event and the library will be doing its own activities as well.
“We are asking individuals to come join us, but still limiting gathering face masks required just as they would be with regular library open hours and then I think because it’s National Library Week they’ll be doing some other activities that week.”
Pasutti says it will be exciting to celebrate all of the effort that was put into the renovation with the ribbon cutting.
