With the calendar getting ready to rollover into April, there are some upcoming hunting seasons ready to start.

According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the resident only youth season for turkey is coming up on April 9-11 which will then be followed by the regular turkey hunting season April 12-15, second season April 16-20, third season April 21-27 and fourth season will be April 28 to May 16. 

The archery only season will take place April 12 to May 16. Those who are hunting may purchase two gun/bow licenses if at least one of them is for the fourth hunting season. Also, hunters who are successful must report their harvest by midnight the day after it is recovered. 

There are multiple ways hunters can report their harvest either online, at www.iowadnr.gov, calling the toll free number on the tag, visiting any license vendor during business hours, texting your registration number to 1-800-771-4692 or through the Go Outdoors Iowa app.
