As plans continue to come together for this year’s Greene County Fair, 4’Hers are reminded of a certification course to show livestock.

Greene County ISU Extension Director Lori Mannel says the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals class will be held on Saturday, March 27th.

“This is a training that they need to take every single year to make sure that they have healthy animals that will soon to be in the food chain. So basically it’s any animal other than dog or horse.”

There are a number of in-person meetings scheduled with different time slots to accommodate social distancing guidelines, as space is limited to ten people per session. The time slots are 10-11am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 1-2pm, 2:30-3:30pm and 4-5pm. There is also a virtual option and each class is $12 per person. Contact the Extension office in Jefferson to sign up.
