early-voting-2

Dallas County Auditor Julia Helm joins Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate and other county auditors across Iowa encouraging high schools to host voter registration drives later this month.

Ahead of the 50th anniversary of Iowa ratifying the 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which lowered the voting age from 21 to 18, Governor Kim Reynolds plans to make March 30th “Iowa High School Voter Registration Day.”

Iowa law says that a 17-year-old can register to vote and there are close to 2,000 17-year-olds registered to vote. There are several ways to register to vote including online and through the mail and also military recruiting centers and in-person at while at the polling place on election day.
