A Jefferson man faces a felony drug charge following a weekend incident in Grand Junction.
According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call of a suspicious male tipping over garbage cans, and going through a dumpster at the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction after 11pm Friday. The caller said the male mentioned going to the Laundromat in Grand Junction.
When the deputy arrived at the business, the male wasn’t there, but was located near the community center. The deputy located the male and knew it was 37-year-old Eric Rosenow. The deputy asked if Rosenow was under the influence of drugs and he admitted that he smoked marijuana and had a smoking device on his person. Rosenow also consented to the deputy searching the two bags he had with him. A smoking device with burnt residue was found, along with a green leafy substance that weighed less than two grams and field tested positive for marijuana.
Rosenow was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was previously convicted of possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. He was booked and released under his own recognizance from the Greene County Jail.
