The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Thursday.

The meeting started with a closed session with Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson. Following the closed session, the Board approved his salary at $75,000. The Board then held a public hearing for the County’s debt service. It was proposed to issue a general obligation loan not to exceed $525,000 for a new roof on the courthouse as well as exterior tuckpointing and building a maintenance shed at the transfer station. Following the public hearing, the Board approved their intent to enter into a loan agreement for $525,000.

The Board then discussed its structure and duties. Supervisor Chair Mike Dickson said several responsibilities of the former human resources director had been delegated to other county departments. From that, Dickson asked each of the supervisors if they would oversee certain responsibilities and communicate with the new human resources director starting next week. The Board agreed to Dickson’s request.

Finally, the Board approved Gary Muir, Maggie Armstrong and Brian Johnson as the magistrate appointing commission.
