
Awards and achievements are continuing to come in for Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs girls basketball, after a semifinalist finish at the state tournament in Des Moines. The Iowa Girls Coaches Association came out with their annual team and a Mustang was able to make the list.
Sophomore Emma Miner was able to make the second team after her great season, putting together a big season from the forward position. Miner put up 11 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game. Miner played an vital role towards DCGs success, helping lead to the success of the team. She also was very efficient on the offensive end, shooting 49% from the field and 49% from three as well. She also was able to tally 21 steals as well.
She also was named to the 4A all tournament team in the state tournament last week, playing at a high level and helping the Mustangs pick up their first ever tournament win.
DCG will be bringing back a talented core from last years team, and Miner is expected to play a big factor in the future success of the program as well.
