During this past year as the coronavirus pandemic has swept across the globe, long-term care facilities have had to do whatever they could to protect their residents, and now one such facility in Perry recently reopened.
Perry Lutheran Homes Marketing Director Mollie Clark says they’ve had positive feedback from residents and family members since they have reopened.
“When the residents are happy and excited to see somebody in person that makes our staff excited and happy. So really we’ve got all the staff we can on deck to help schedule these visits and be present so that those visits can happen. We love our residents and when we see them happy that just makes us so happy. So we are really glad to see those family members back in the building.”
While Perry Lutheran Homes reopened for visits a little more than a week ago, Clark tells Raccoon Valley Radio that family members also remained strong as they were isolated from their loved ones.
“They have been awesome through this whole pandemic. They have been patient, they have been understanding. It’s been really difficult on them as well.”
Perry Lutheran Homes officially reopened for in person visits on March 1st, and they continue to follow social distancing guidelines such as mask wearing among other things.
