The Perry School Board approved the Perry Elementary playground project at their regular meeting Monday.
The cost of the project is roughly $296,000 and includes playground equipment, installation, surface, concrete and black fence. The project is also on the five-year major facility projects plan. Also, the board approved for the advertising of the Jim Kaufman track renovation project with advertising to begin today.
Also, the Board approved the high school music departments 2022 trip to New York City, the 2021/2022 Insurance Plan and Rates through Iowa Schools Employee Benefits Association, publishing the proposed 2021-2022 budget and setting the public hearing date for 6 p.m. April 12th, a budget guarantee resolution, board policies and the March Return to Learn Plan.
Finally, the Board approved the University of Northern Iowa’s agreement for field experiences for 2021-2022 and William Penn’s agreement for student teaching, a change to the 2020-2021 school year calendar, a growing season bid from No Lawn Left Behind, asbestos abatement and awarding the contract for those services to REW Services for the Perry Middle School project, board COVID-19 leave and three special education positions.
The Board then entered into an exempt session to discuss negotiations strategies.
